  Bivouac in the Sahara means experiencing a magical night under a starry sky, surrounded by golden dunes. By the fire, with a mint tea in hand, let yourself be carried away by the immensity and freedom of the desert.

Stay plan

• Day 1Embark on the adventure.

  Meeting at 10:00 PM at Houari Boumediene Airport in Algiers, in preparation for our departure to Djanet.

• Day 2From Djanet to the Red Tadrart

  Departure on flight AH6294 at 12:30 AM, arriving in Djanet at 2:45 AM, where our Tuareg guides will welcome us. After loading the luggage into the 4x4 vehicles, spend the first night camping near the airport. After breakfast, depart towards the Red Tadrart. Along the way, discover the Taghitit rock engravings, followed by a lunch stop in Amaïs. Continue the journey before enjoying dinner, a traditional musical evening, and an overnight bivouac under the stars.

• Day 3The Canyons of El Birdj

  After breakfast, depart towards Oued El Birdj, one of the gateways to the Tadrart. Discover its impressive wide canyons, along with the ancient rock engravings and paintings found in the Merkawindi region. Dinner, traditional musical evening, and overnight bivouac under the stars.

• Day 4The Red Dunes of Moul n’Aga

  Head towards Moul n’Aga, renowned for its majestic red sand dunes. Settle into the camp, enjoy lunch, then embark on a hike through the dunes to admire the breathtaking landscapes and watch the sunset from the heights. Dinner, evening, and overnight bivouac under the stars.

• Day 5Tin Merzouga, the Pearl of the Tadrart

  Departure towards Tin Merzouga, known as “the Pearl of the Tadrart”, home to one of the highest dunes in southeastern Algeria. Along the way, discover fascinating rock paintings and engravings depicting elephants and giraffes, as well as the Cathedral and the Intihag Arch. Lunch near the Bouhaydan River, followed by the ascent of Tin Merzouga dune to enjoy a breathtaking 360° panoramic view and sunset. Return to the camp for dinner, a traditional musical evening, and an overnight bivouac under the stars.

• Day 6Discovering In Djaren

  A mix of hiking and 4x4 drives towards In Djaren, discovering new rock engravings and paintings, including fish depicted on the walls of the Tadrart, the only seated giraffe in all the Tassili, and the famous World Cup Rock. Lunch along the way, followed by arrival at the campsite for dinner, an evening under the stars, and an overnight bivouac.

• Day 7Tigharghart & returne to Djanet

  Departure from the Tadrart towards Tigharghart to discover a keyhole-shaped tomb, the famous Elephant Rock, and the renowned Crying Cow rock engravings. After lunch, head to Djanet for an afternoon visit to the local market, with the opportunity to shop for authentic souvenirs. Dinner and evening activities.

• Day 8The end of a dream.

  Departure on flight AH6295 to Algiers at 1:40 AM, arriving in Algiers at 3:55 AM, marking the end of this unforgettable Saharan adventure.
