Stay plan

  • Day 1Arrival and Camp Setup

    Departure from Houari Boumediene International Airport in Algiers to Djanet. Upon arrival at Tiska Airport, warm welcome by our Tuareg team, followed by a 4x4 transfer to the campsite for a first night under the stars in a desert bivouac.

  • Day 2Desert Immersion Experience

    • After breakfast, visit to the city museum followed by the local market, perfect for purchasing traditional cheches. Open-air lunch before heading into the desert towards Essendilene, a region inhabited by Tuareg nomads.
    • The journey continues with a visit to the famous Essendilene guelta, nestled among rock formations and known for its rich vegetation, including oleanders, tamarisks, palm trees, and acacias.
    • By late afternoon, transfer to Tawadjadit for camp setup. Dinner around a campfire under a starlit sky, followed by traditional music performed by our musicians. Overnight in a desert bivouac.
  • Day 3Ihrir Valley & Rock Art Discovery

    • After breakfast, departure for a full day exploring the Ihrir Valley, a small zeriba oasis inhabited by Tuareg nomads. Crossing more than five gueltas, each more beautiful than the last. Picnic lunch by the water.
    • In the afternoon, continuation to Dider to visit the Tin Taghirt site, renowned for its remarkable rock engravings. These unique artworks depict rhinoceroses, ostriches, gazelles, giraffes, cattle, and other animals from the time when the Sahara was once fertile and humid.
    • Late in the day, transfer to Tikoubouine for camp setup. Dinner and overnight in a desert bivouac.
  • Day 4Tikobaouine & Tilaline Exploration

    • After a leisurely breakfast, departure by 4x4 to Tikobaouine, known for its endless corridors of rock columns rising from the golden sand, creating a magical and unforgettable landscape. The rock formations form arches, towers, and impressive castle-like structures, immersing visitors in a fantastical world.
    • Lunch on site, then continue to the Tilaline region to explore its rock paintings. The journey proceeds to Idjerekem (Emourouden), where natural corridors create true labyrinths. Camp setup in huts, dinner and overnight stay.
  • Day 5Tigharghart & Return to Djanet

    • After a leisurely breakfast, departure to Tigharghart to visit one of the region’s prehistoric highlights: “The Crying Cow”, a Neolithic masterpiece with extraordinary rock carvings etched deeply into the stone. Lunch on site.
    • Continue visiting other magnificent sites before returning to the town of Djanet, where you can enjoy the local atmosphere and do some market shopping.
    • Late in the day, 4x4 transfer to Tin Amali for the final desert dinner. After this last evening, transfer to Djanet Airport.
  • Day 6Return to Algiers

    Flight back to Algiers, with hearts light and memories full of unforgettable moments: the colors of the desert, twinkling stars, and the smiles of the people met along the way.
